Back to the Motherland

Back to the Motherland

Three alarm clocks and a frontdesk wake-up call later, I managed to not miss my 11am flight. Had to take a taxi to Newark airport after not allowing sufficient time to take the metro/train.

Yeah, so lots of Chinese people everywhere. In contrast to me, most of them seemed to speak Chinese. The plane wasn't a massive hulking 747, but I was stuck with the middle seat this time. Upon entering the plane and showing the attendant my pass, she directed me to the right in Chinese. Actually whenever a Chinese attendant interacted with me during the flight, she spoke in Chinese. Understandable? Yes, but I can only imagine what China will be like.

Beef stir-fry

First meal came a couple of hours into the flight. I was losing all track of time by then, but the stir-fry was a welcomed lunch. It was almost so much food that I was thinking it was dinner time.

Hot dogs and ice-cream

Oh my did this hit the spot. It was about 4 hours since lunch and I started smelling baked bread and butter in the air. The cabin lights had been dark for awhile so my mind was thinking 'breakfast' 'breakfast'. To my surprise, I was given a hotdog and mini cup of Haagen Dazs. Tasty snack.

About an hour before landing, a final meal service was Shanghai Noodles with potstickers.
